Lettering

1.  To earn a Letter in Frosh-Soph Division or Varsity Division an individual must earn a total of
      _____ victory points during the season.  To earn PE credit an individual must earn a total of
     _____
victory points during the season.  To letter, an individual must finish the season including  
       Area, Valley, and State, if the individual qualified.

2.  Victory Points
       (a) An individual will earn 2 victory points for every event completed.
       (b) Dual Meets:  an individual will earn 6 points for beating the opposing school’s top 
                  individual. Earn 4 points for beating the number two man. Earn 2 points for 
                  beating the number three man.              
       (c) Tri meets: an individual will earn 10 points for beating the opposing schools’ top 
                  individual. Earn 8 points for beating the number two man, etc.           
       (d)Invitational Meets: An individual will earn 2 points for placing 10th, 4 points for
                  placing 9th, 6 points for placing 8th, etc.             
         (e)If a Frosh-Soph athlete runs for the Varsity, he/she will not be penalized. His/ Her 
                      time will be compared with his normal division to determine his/her points for his/her 
                division.
      (f) An athlete will earn 2 points for every practice he/she attends.
      (g) An athlete qualifying for the State Track Meet will earn 50 points.

3.  Awards:
      (a) The individual with the most victory points will earn the 
Most Valuable Athlete
      (b) The individual with the best single performance will earn the Most Outstanding Athlete
      (c)The individual with the most improvement since the beginning of his/her first season, 
              will earn the 
Most Improved  Athlete.
      (d) An athlete must letter to earn an award
